This editing package is for manuscripts hat have not gone through final edits. The purpose of a beta edit is to provide early-insight into what works, what doesn’t, and where any existing plot holes/inconsistencies exist. Additionally, this is the first opportunity to get insight on sections, quotes, and major plot points that resonate with the reader.

Most importantly, this does not focus on grammar or proofreading.

A Developmental Edit comes before any line/copy edits, and after the initial beta read. This is a lengthy edit that focuses solely on the plot beats, plot holes, inconsistencies (i.e, “You said their hair was blue, but now it’s pink,” or, “The moon was out, and now it’s sunny.”).
During this round, I will also make suggestions on any sections that feel weak, need more stuffing, and/or can be removed/altered/shortened. Most suggestions in a dev edit are just that - suggestions to improve the story.

Line Edits focus on line-by-line clarity, consistency, and style Here, I will make suggestions on sentence structure.
Copy Edits focus on mechanical accuracy. This is where I will correct grammatical mistakes and improve the technical execution of the piece.

These edits go hand-in-hand, so I will do it all in one pass.

In this package, I will go through a Developmental edit first, and then after you apply any changes, I will continue on to Line/Copy edits.

This lengthy process will ensure your book baby is ready for publication.
